Join us for a presentation about geocaching.  Sandy McCann and Katie Hux will let you know everything it takes to get started as a geocacher.  Sandy has been geocaching for years and has enjoyed this hobby as she travels all over the U.S.  Katie is retired from the Knox County Parks District and has been instrumental in organizing and setting up geocaches all over Knox County.  They both have so much experience and information that this is sure to be a fun event. Toothpick Engineering

All ages are invited to come spend an hour to be a toothpick engineer! Work by yourself, with a friend or a whole team to build whatever you like using only toothpicks and marshmallows! Can you build a tall structure? A domed shape building? Come and find out! 

LEGO Play Day

All ages are invited to stop by today from 10 am - 6 pm to build with our LEGOs.  Make a creation and we will display it for several days for all to see! Please remember that LEGOs are small, so younger children should be accompanied by a grown-up.

Even non-winners will leave with a treat.  All ages are invited to attend because everyone loves Bingo!  We will meet at the gazebo and you may bring a chair or blanket to sit on, if you wish.  We will play for about 30 minutes. If weather looks bad, we will relocate to meeting room. Please call with questions.

Cardboard Engineering-Dino Build

Use cardboard tubes, random pieces and other items to make a dinosaur! Will you make a tall t-rex or a totally unique one-of-a-kind dinosaur?  Don't feel like making a dinosaur? Then make whatever you would like! We will have cardboard, tape and other items for you to make your best creation. Work alone or with a partner or team to get creative and have fun! You can take it home when finished.  Event will last 45 minutes. All ages are invited.

Make a Book Journal

Have you seen the amazing book journals on #booktok, #booktube or #bookstagram? Well, we are going to make them! Anna will have all of the supplies that you need to get started on your own book journal or other decorative journal.  Class will last approximately one hour.  

National Selfie Day

Take a selfie with your current favorite book then show it to us when you come to the library this week (by 3:00 pm on June 24th).  We will give you a special treat!  Be sure to look for the fun staff selfies posted this week throughout the library.

Armstrong Air & Space Museum

Today at 1:00, join library staff and the Armstrong Air & Space Museum upstairs in the Village Chambers for a presentation called "Parachute Egg Drop." This STEM activity is geared for those ages 4 and up and we encourage entire families to attend. Participants will work in groups to create a device that will land safely without breaking the egg inside, using only the materials given.  Participants will learn about the difficulty landing rovers on other worlds.   This will be a fun and educational program which will last approximately 45 minutes.
