Special Event

Join Tina and Valorie as they have some fun connecting the dots between a good fiction book and a great recipe.  During "Cook the Book," they will discuss a fiction book and then demonstrate a recipe that was inspired by that book.  This will be a seasonal event on YouTube that you may view at your convenience.  Be sure to check out our YouTube channel for all of our Cook the Book videos!

Everyone is invited to come and play Book Bingo.  It will be played with traditional Bingo cards and when you get a B-I-N-G-O, you will pick a free book or other fun item! There will be books and items for all ages and interests. Entire families are invited to come and play. This event will last about 30 minutes and even non-winners will leave with a treat.  Plan on joining us for this fun and  family friendly event.  Please call with questions.

Stop by to pick up your free 2026 Holiday Recipe Book.  The book contains recipes submitted by library staff, patrons and community members.  Making a yearly Holiday Recipe Book has been a long tradition here at the library and we are very proud to be able to offer it again this year.  Books are limited to 2 per family and extra copies may be requested to be sent via e-mail.  Supplies are limited. Your submission can be appetizers & dips, dinners & sides, breakfast, brunch & lunch or desserts.  You are welcome to submit one recipe.  To submit a recipe, pick up a form in the library or e-mail recipe to centerburglibrary.17@gmail.com.  You may also bring your recipe into the library and we will make a copy of it.

Drop off your stuffies today from 10 am - 5 pm! Ever wonder what your stuffed animals do at night? Well, now you can find out! Kids are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the library for a sleepover! The sleepover will be just for the stuffed animals and not the kids. Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library on Thursday, January 15th or Friday, January 16th and take a few minutes to decorate a "sleeping bag" and nametag for your friend.

Stop in to pick up a free Interactive Movie Kit for Halloweentown! The kit is loaded with activities, fun and snacks! Check out one of our copies of Halloweentown or catch it on a streaming service.  Watch the movie and play along with the included interactive script.  It's free family fun! Supplies are limited. The winner of the Pumpkin Decorating Contest will be announced at 10:00 am today! Patrons will have been casting votes all week for their favorite so check out our Instagram and Facebook to see who won candy and an Amazon gift card!
