Special Event

Today is the first day to submit your recipe for our 2025 Holiday Recipe Book.  Do you have a favorite recipe or one that you frequently get asked to make? If so, please consider sharing it with us! Your submission can be appetizers & dips, dinners & sides, breakfast, brunch & lunch or desserts.  You are welcome to submit one recipe.  To submit a recipe, pick up a form in the library or e-mail recipe to centerburglibrary.17@gmail.com.  You may also bring your recipe into the library and we will make a copy of it.

Ever wonder what your stuffed animals do at night? Well, now you can find out! Kids are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal to the library for a sleepover! The sleepover will be just for the stuffed animals and not the kids. Bring your favorite stuffed animal to the library on Thursday, January 15th or Friday, January 16th and take a few minutes to decorate a "sleeping bag" and nametag for your friend.

Stop in to pick up a free Interactive Movie Kit for Halloweentown! The kit is loaded with activities, fun and snacks! Check out one of our copies of Halloweentown or catch it on a streaming service.  Watch the movie and play along with the included interactive script.  It's free family fun! Supplies are limited. The winner of the Pumpkin Decorating Contest will be announced at 10:00 am today! Patrons will have been casting votes all week for their favorite so check out our Instagram and Facebook to see who won candy and an Amazon gift card!

Centerburg Trick-or-Treat will be this evening 5:30-7:00 pm.  Be sure to stop and see us for a treat!

Did you know that the library is also the local history center?  Throughout the year, we have historical books and photos that you can look at while here in the library.  However, if you plan on attending the Oldtime Farming Festival, be sure to stop by the Centerburg History Tent.  There will be lots of information and photos available about the history of the area.  Local historian and Centerburg Library Board Member, Gloria Parsisson, has an incredible amount of knowledge regarding Centerburg history and she puts a lot of work into this display each year.  Be sur

Join the BYOB (Bring Your Own BOOK!) Book Club.  In this book club, we meet for one hour to discuss recent reads or long-time favorites and what we thought about them.  There will be no assigned book.  You read whatever you want, your own book or a library book and then come and tell us what you think.

Today is the last day to pick up any Summer Reading prizes that you may have won.  Prizes not picked up by closing today will be forfeited.  Please call with questions.
