Special Event

It's a St. Patrick's theme! Join us from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm! Have you heard about Silent Reading Parties? Many of these have sprung up around the country, and we have had patrons request that we try one out here.  These events allow you to read in public alone, but together.  It has been described as "a silent party where everyone reads!"  Everyone 18 and older is invited.  So, bring a book to read or choose one from here and plan on joining us.  There will be yummy snacks and mocktails, too.

We are beyond excited to have renowned author, Mindy McGinnis, visit us in Centerburg.  Join us at 6:30 upstairs from the Library in the Village Council Meeting Room for this amazing event.   Mindy is an Ohio author who has many books ranging from Young Adult, Thriller, Mystery and more! She is also an Edgar Award-winning author and even wrote with James Patterson.  Hope to see you there!

The Centerburg Public Library opened its doors on March 24, 1924. Stop by from 2:00 - 4:00 pm to celebrate our 100th anniversary!   There will be snacks, photo displays, reminiscing, and amazing mementos.  Also, we will be putting up our sign outside in front of the library at 2:30. Did you know that the Library was started by a group of women called The Alpha Club?  Even 100 years ago, they realized that a library plays an important role in every community.  Join the Board of Trustees and Staff to celebrate our 100th year.

Join the Spring Reading Challenge! Pick up our special bookmark and color a flower (there's only 2!) on it for each book you read during March. Return the completed bookmark to us by March 30th at 3 pm to receive a special treat! All teens and adults are invited to participate in this challenge.  Each person may receive one treat.

Today is the last day to turn in your Winter Reading Challenge Bingo Card to receive a cool prize! Did you get a BINGO? If so, turn your card in! Cards must be turned in by closing time of 3 pm.

All ages are invited to join the Winter Reading Challenge!  Challenge logs will be available beginning January 2nd and the challenge continues until March 7th. Simply pick up a challenge log from us and mark off each circle as you complete it.   It is acceptable if one book allows you to mark off multiple circles.  You may complete as many challenge logs as you like.  You do not have to complete all the circles prior to turning in your log. When you turn in your log, you will receive a ticket for each circle completed.

Space Race is a scavenger hunt to find all that you need to travel to space!
