Painting Events and Fairy Gardens

There are still spots remaining for our upcoming "Mom and Me" painting events.  These are taking place on May 3rd and May 5th in our meeting room.  Both mom and child will work together to make a beautiful spring creation.  The fairy garden event will be on May 19th.  It will be held in honor of Lou Ann Adams and participants will pay a reduced fee that was made possible by a contribution from a local book club.  Please stop in or call us for more details.

Geneology Event with DAR

Volunteers from the local chapter of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) will be holding a "Discovering Your Ancestors" event from 1:00-2:30 on May 20th in the Village Meeting Room.  This event is hosted by our library and some of the topics covered will include organizational skills, source checklist, census records and court records.  This is a free event but registration is required and space is limited. Call the library to secure a spot.

Go Green with Jean

Join OSU Master Gardener, Jean Tahyi, on the third Friday of each month at 10:30 a.m. to learn great gardening skills.  There will be a set topic each month and topics covered include: perennials, annuals, house plants, bulbs, vegetables, insects, disease and composting.  Gardeners of any skill level are encouraged to attend. Bring any questions you may have! This program is made possible though the OSU Extension office. Please call for further details.

Bike Program on Hiatus

Currently, our "Book-A-Bike" program is on hiatus until the Spring. The bikes will be available again beginning on March 1st.   We have partnered with the Knox County Health Department to help increase the activity levels of people in our community. After completing some required forms, you may use your library card to check out a bike and helmet. There are a limited number of bikes and one pull behind 2-child cart (called a Burley Bee). Please call the library for further details as bikes may be unavailable on certain days and in certain weather conditions.
